He went to college and got a masters in business management and for many years worked for a number of big advertising firms across the country. Though he's an accomplished business man, Max has a tendency to walk a thin ethical line. He's participated in a number of shady dealings outside of his normal buisiness and has managed to make himself a respectable amount of cash. Some of his ventures bordered on illegal, but he always knows when to pull out. When, Hubert Grange, the owner of Great Lakes Championship Wrestling, announced that he was going to retire and end the GLCW legacy, Max moved in and convinced the ailing old man to sell the promotion. Grange agreed, but under the following stipulations: His long time friend Danny Front maintain a job as a referee for as long as he likes, his nephew David and niece Patricia stay on as employees, and David be given a heavyweight title run before Grange's death. Max reluctantly agreed and has yet has been fighting with himself trying to find an acceptable storyline that could satisfy the stipulations without devaueing the Heavyweight Title. Max has since put every penny he has into the promotion in the hopes that he can make it one of the bests promotions in the country. A far as promoters go, he's pretty easy going. It's not difficult to make proposals to him and wrestlers find him easy to talk to. He's been known to make a few careless booking choices in the past and has been known to overlook drug and alcohol use if it means having to fire an active wrestler.
